FLL Tournament

On November 11th, 2018, Cupertino Robotics hosted its third annual First Lego League tournament at Cupertino High School. This year, Cupertino Robotics held a dual tournament with two competitions of 16 teams each running simultaneously. Though it required more planning and effort, the overall event was a great success where teams were able to compete while embracing values such as gracious professionalism and coopertition.

FTC Dublin Qualifiers

Middle School  Presentation

Featured Video

On December 2nd, 2018, FTC teams 7128, 11466, 4950, and 13832 attended their first qualifiers of the season in Dublin. We wish them luck for the rest of their season!

An annual tradition of this organization is to visit our local middle schools to let students know about the STEM opportunities that our program has for them. We presented at both Hyde and Lawson Middle School, demoing our robots and letting students know what robotics is all about.

Let’s take a popular song: God's Plan. In Cupertino Robotics, our FTC division sought to utilize the popularity of the song to demonstrate the kind of work that is done in robotics: activity that doesn't only involve robots. On our Youtube channel, this theme of this parody is all about how the FTC teams were organized and the overall journey throughout the year.  The video was made for comedic purposes and is based on our lead mentor, Chuck Williams.

Support education and innovation.

Not just robotics.

We offer students the opportunity to join a business oriented team where they learn design and accounting as well as journalistic opportunities in the form of the engineering journal or newsletters.

Building people, building robots.

We may be called CHS Robotics, but our primary focus is on growing the kids who join our program into mature young adults with extensive experience in teamwork, management, and leadership.

The community matters too.

Through events like the Cupertino Rotary Fall Festival as well as the maintenance of social media pages, Cupertino Robotics has expanded to be a driving force in our community. With the help of the PR and Outreach team, the impact we have continues to expand.

The future is the most important.

Our goal at Cupertino Robotics is to be an organization that is well-sustained through time. We do this by hosting an FLL program which expands to the middle schools in our community.

Qualified Mentors

Our mentors are from the top of their industries, putting their personal time into spending meetings at cupertino high to coach our teams.

Gracious Professionalism is part of the ethos of FIRST [...] With Gracious Professionalism, fierce competition and mutual gain are not separate notions.
— Dean Kamen, founder of FIRST

At CHSR, we place heavy emphasis on the value of gracious professionalism. Being able to work hard and innovate while also being kind, fair, and team-spirited is a huge part of what FIRST stands for and what the modern STEM community needs. We work hard to maintain a pleasant working environment where everyone is treated fairly and everyone is productive.
