"Building people, building robots"
Cupertino Robotics was founded in 2007 by a group of seven students who wanted to bring hands-on engineering and STEM opportunities to the Cupertino community. What began as a small, student-led initiative has grown into a comprehensive robotics program serving more than 60 students each year, supported by over 10 dedicated volunteer mentors with backgrounds in engineering, software, and education.
Our program is built on the belief that students learn best by doing. We empower them to lead the design, fabrication, programming, and testing of competitive robots - supported, but never overshadowed, by mentors. Whether they are machining parts, writing code, planning outreach events, or managing sponsor relationships, students take ownership of meaningful work that mirrors real-world engineering and teamwork.
Beyond building robots, we focus on building people. We celebrate student achievements, encourage leadership at every level, and strive to create an inclusive environment where students of all backgrounds can discover confidence, community, and a passion for problem solving. Our goal is to improve the lives of every person who experiences our program - students, families, mentors, and the broader community
