Team 7128: Tino PixelTech

We are team 7128, Tino PixelTech, and our team consists of 3 second years and 7 first years. Throughout this season, we have been able to build connections and grow as a team while working on our robot. This was made possible only because of the FIRST core values, gracious professionalism, and coopertition. Through our challenges and improvement, FTC had bonded us all together and made us friends rather than just team members.

Robot

In order to build our robot, we have divided our teams into two subgroups, the hardware subgroup and the software subgroup. Each subgroup would communicate with each other to try and make the most efficient robot possible.

Hardware

Our goals in hardware were to build a functional robot that was under fourteen inches tall to ensure we could fit under the trusses. Our robot has a two-join arm with a wheel intake, which allows our arm to move to various heights and positions as well as take in and out hexagonal pixels. However, after seeing our arm function during the competition, we are revising our designs.

software

To fulfill our goal to build the most efficient robot, it required us as a team to work together to find some innovative ideas. This would include making drive code which would be easier for the driver to control and also making sure that there would be no bugs in our code.

Outreach

Fall Festival

A member of our team participated in Fall-fest, a chance for children to have hands-on experience with FTC robots and for people of all ages to learn more about the programs Cupertino Robotics offers, such as FTC and FLL.

FLL Youth Mentoring

Over the course fall three of our members have taken part in guiding and mentoring teams of six middle schoolers to code, build, and run robots for FLL. They were taught not only basic programming and design principles but also core values and teamwork.
